EDGE provides the opportunity for disengaged young people to overcome numerous challenges, obtain an education, and transform their lives.  More than 100 young people have taken advantage of this opportunity since 2007, and each student has an inspiring story to share.

Erica’s story

EDGE Training & Placement Inc has been a big help to not just my education but to my life. Before I came to EDGE Training & Placement Inc I didn’t know where my life was headed. The staff and people that work with Edge help me to put my life into perspective. Now my life is on the straight and narrow. When I came to Edge I was frustrated about school. I was upset because in a public school there are way too many distractions and I didn’t get the attention that I needed. At Edge there are small classrooms, leadership sessions, and they get to know the students so that we feel comfortable. Edge gives us opportunities to met people with careers so that we can know what is in store for us after we receive our GED. The people here help us to figure out what the next step is going to be after we receive our GED and help us pursue our dreams.

With the help of EDGE Training & Placement Inc I am beginning a new part to my life. I have registered at North Carolina Central University and on my way to fulfilling my dream to go to college and have a career in nursing.
