EDGE Training and Placement, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 comprehensive youth program assisting youth in rebuilding
their lives through training and education. We believe you must have discipline in order to grow. Because leadership qualities will be instilled in the students from the beginning it is important that a structured format of discipline be enforced.
Our Mission & Impact:
EDGE's mission is to offer Durham's at risk and out of school youth the opportunity to engage in growth critical tosuccess and professional development and to learn new ways to manage their life, work and education through moral and ethical principles.
EDGE has innovative teaching strategies and curriculum to make school more relevant and engaging. The students have strongrelationships with the teachers, staff and the other students. The parents are exepected to communicate with the school regularly and EDGE will encourage healthy communication between the parents and students.
EDGE Purpose is to:
Increase opportunities for out-of-school youth ages 16 and over to attain their GED and engage them in personaldevelopment and growth critical to success in work and in life.
Produce a positive learning environment that accelerates education outcomes with teaching centered on discipline and individual needs.
Offer techniques through instruction that addresses low self-esteem, self-destructive behavior and negative influences.
Prepare participants for economic independence and self- sufficiency by helping them continue their education and secure meaningful employment.
